IKEA SNIGLAR CHANGING TABLE
Surface: 72cm x 53cm | £39
The Sniglar is IKEA's most affordable changing table and honestly, it does the job really well. It's a simple open-frame design in solid beech. Lightweight, easy to wipe down, and easy to move between rooms.
Here's the thing though: the Sniglar surface is narrower than most parents expect. At 53cm wide, it's the narrowest table in the IKEA range, and it catches people out more than any other model. Some parents have noticed that IKEA's own recommended mat is actually wider than the Sniglar surface. That tells you something. The Sniglar is also only recommended for babies up to 12 months, so if you're planning ahead it's worth bearing in mind.
The good news is the Anti Roll Wedge is a brilliant fit. At 44cm wide it sits securely on the surface with room either side, and the raised sides work really well alongside the Sniglar's wooden rails.

IKEA GULLIVER CHANGING TABLE
Surface: 82cm x 54cm | £69
The Gulliver is IKEA's bestseller and it's easy to see why. Clean white design, solid wood frame, good storage underneath, and a surface that's noticeably more generous than the Sniglar. A lot of parents go straight for this one and don't look any further. That's completely fair.
Like the Sniglar, it's rated for children up to 12 months. If you want a table that takes you into the toddler years without any compromise, the Sundvik or Småstad might be worth looking at instead.
The Anti Roll Wedge is the pick here. At 44cm wide it sits neatly on the 54cm surface, and the raised sides give you that extra bit of containment as baby gets wrigglier.

IKEA SMÅGÖRA CHANGING TABLE/BOOKSHELF

The Smågöra is one of IKEA's newer additions and it's a really pretty unit. Soft rounded edges, non-toxic surfaces throughout, and it eventually converts into a bookshelf. It's part of a coordinating nursery range so if you're going for a cohesive look, it's a lovely option.
At 60cm wide it's narrower than the Gulliver, but the depth at 81cm is one of the most generous in the range. The Anti Roll Wedge sits really well on it. At 44cm wide it leaves comfortable room on both sides and there's plenty of space lengthways.

IKEA SUNDVIK CHANGING TABLE/CHEST OF DRAWERS

The Sundvik is a clever one. It has a fold-out panel that extends the changing surface from 54cm deep to 79cm. That makes a real difference once baby starts rolling and wriggling in earnest. The Älskvärd is IKEA's premium option and it looks it. Birch and white, beautifully designed, and built to feel like a proper piece of furniture rather than a dedicated changing unit. The surface extends from 58cm to 77cm deep and at 94cm wide it's the most generous in the IKEA range.
The Anti Roll Wedge fits brilliantly here, and this is also one of the tables where the Original Mat comes into its own. The larger surface gives it real room to breathe and it looks gorgeous on a unit like this.

It converts into a chest of drawers and wall shelf when you're done with the nappy stage. It's the kind of piece that earns its place in a nursery and then stays there for years.
The surface is one of the deepest in the range at 79cm, which makes changes comfortable and gives you plenty of room to work. The Anti Roll Wedge fits brilliantly inside the tray for a snug, contained feel, and the Original Mat is also a great choice here given the generous surface area.

IKEA SMÅSTAD CHANGING TABLE

The Småstad is IKEA's most modular option, part of a wider storage system that you can configure in lots of different ways. As a changing table it's excellent: a big roomy surface with high guard rails on three sides, which a lot of parents find really reassuring.
One thing worth knowing before you buy: it's designed to convert into a desk when your child is older, but parent reviews suggest the conversion isn't always as practical as it sounds. Once the platform is lowered, the drawers can become hard to access. As a changing table though, it's hard to fault.
